Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have split just months shy of their three-year wedding anniversary.
Qualley, 31, and Antonoff, 42, have separated, PEOPLE confirms, with a source adding that the pair's relationship is "rocky."
A second insider adds that the actress and the Bleachers frontman are "figuring things out."
Antonoff is in the midst of his Bleachers Forever tour, while Qualley is currently in pre-production on the upcoming horror film Possession.
Reps for Qualley and Antonoff have not responded to PEOPLE's request for comment.
News of the pair's separation comes days after Antonoff attended longtime friend Taylor Swift's July 3 wedding to Travis Kelce without Qualley, bringing his fashion designer sister Rachel Antonoff with him instead.
Antonoff, a successful musician and record producer, and Qualley, known for movies like Sanctuary and The Substance, first sparked romance rumors in August 2021 when they were seen kissing on a date in Brooklyn. The pair went public in 2022 when they attended an AFI Awards Luncheon together in support of Qualley's Netflix series Maid.
In March of that year the pair went Instagram official, and PEOPLE confirmed they were engaged in May 2022.
Qualley and Antonoff's August 2023 wedding in New Jersey featured celebrity guests like Swift, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey.
In an April interview on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show, Antonoff said that he knew he would marry Qualley the "second" they first met at a party in 2021.
"I saw her and it was like a f---ing Hallmark movie that doesn't seem believable," he said in the interview. "When I met her, I started imagining things that I'd never even imagined, like marriage."
On The Howard Stern Show, he also revealed that he proposed to Qualley while the pair were living in Paris, and that he called her sister Rainey shortly before popping the question to ask for her blessing.
"I came back and I could tell that I looked crazy 'cause she looked at me like something was wrong, and I think it's because I had begun to sweat," he said. "And all I do is joke, so when I become serious, I think it's a bit arresting."
Qualley described Antonoff as "my person" during a 2023 interview with Harper's Bazaar. "I am so happy that I found my person. And it's real. It's amazing. It's the best feeling in the world," she said at that time. The interview was conducted before their wedding. "I'm so excited and so at ease all at once."

"Until about a month before I met Jack, I never had any furniture. I would always have these s---ty little apartments and move around from one place to another with a mattress on the floor and an Ikea lamp," she added in that interview. "I never made a home at all. I didn't care; I cared about movies. I would use my sister's basement in L.A. as a spot to keep my things. But I didn't invest in that part of my life. It's really exciting now to be making a home and to have something to care for."
During that interview, Qualley said she "just want[ed] to do everything with Jack," though she said they were not rushing to start a family. "One day I want kids, and I'm not there yet, and I want to keep doing movies. And that's about all I know," she told Harper's Bazaar.
In December 2023, Antonoff reflected on his wedding night and relationship with Qualley during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. He said that despite his experience performing in front of crowds, he unexpectedly felt nervous during the big event.
"Someone told me that when you die and when you get married is the only time everyone you love is in a room," he said at the time. "And I was like, 'Oh that is just a thing someone says and I perform for a living so I don't mind if the attention is on me.' And then as soon as it started, my whole body became wet."
"I'm looking for jokes, but it was just really beautiful," he added.
In 2023, Antonoff's longtime collaborator Lana Del Rey released the song "Margaret," which was named after Qualley and featured Bleachers.
The song features lyrics like, "He met Margaret on a rooftop, she was wearin' white / And he was like, 'I might be in trouble' / He had flashes of the good life."
"I'm grateful for [Antonoff], for his example that he gave me in his marriage to Margaret," Del Rey said at an event in 2024. "I saw the way he looked at her when he met her and he's a big reason why I waited so long to get married and why I met my amazing husband."
